Filipino Martial arts, often referred to as Kali, Escrima, or Arnis, encompasses one of the most practical and effective weapons-based martial arts globally. In unarmed combat, Kali utilizes nerve disruptions, limb and bone attacks, alongside low-line kicks, elbow, and knee strikes. Our Kuntaw Kali system is enhanced with empty hand techniques from other Filipino martial arts, combined with joint locks, seizing, and throwing techniques from Comjukai (Combat Judo Karate Aikido). Kali Kuntaw continuously evolves to prepare our students for various scenarios they may face in a street confrontation.
Founded in 1993 by Professor Rico Acosta, Kuntaw Kali Kruzada is a martial arts system that emphasizes both armed (blunt and edged weapons) and unarmed self-defense. The aim of Kuntaw Kali Kruzada is to make training as realistic as possible, incorporating the speed and aggression of actual attacks, along with unexpected angles of attack. The Kuntaw Kali Kruzada system instructs on the use of weapons, including single stick, double stick, stick and dagger, as well as bladed weaponry.

The Kruzada Kali Eskrima curriculum is designed to equip both beginners and advanced practitioners with a comprehensive set of self-defense skills. While our curriculum includes patterned flow drills, the primary objective is to empower students to move beyond these patterns. We focus on training reflexively through un-patterned freestyle drills, where the feeder attacks from random angles. This training can be conducted using various techniques, including single stick, double stick, stick and dagger, empty hand, knife against empty hand, knife to knife, and various multiple attack scenarios, both armed and unarmed.
Founded in 1993 by Professor Rico Acosta, Kuntaw Kali Kruzada has its roots in his extensive martial arts training since the age of five. With over 30 years of teaching experience, he has trained in the Philippines under some of the most esteemed Grandmasters in the field.
